Hi there, the imaging drum actually transfers the toner from the cartridge onto the paper so if your image drum is due for changing then yes you'll need a new one. We have the correct imaging drum for your printer here; CE314A. Or if you'd like our own brand version use the part number here; RECE314A.

If your printer model is the HP Colour LaserJet Pro M177fw then the image drum is built into the toner cartridge and replacing it will mean buying new toners. If your printer isn't this model but something else then you may be able to purchase a replacement image drum which is what you will need to do. If you let me know if the HP Colour LaserJet Pro M177fw is your printer I can better advise you.
