On my original cartridge it states model no 85A

Hi there, 85A refers to the HP short code of the CE285A toner cartridge which you can find on the following page here: https://www.tonergiant.co.uk/product/HP-85A-Black-Toner-Cartridge-CE285A-CE285A-4810/ It's likely that you have the HP LaserJet Pro P1100 printer rather than the HP LaserJet 1100 printer.
