This is an original HP toner cartridge, so it'll perform flawlessly and print quality will be top second to none. I have used compatible toners in the past from elsewhere and found the quality varies somewhat between brands. Using an original means I will not get the nagging message about a non-original cartridge being detected. My low print volume usage means I rarely need to replace toners so don't mind paying more for an original.
