Customer Questions (12)

Q
Can you please confirm whether the black and colour imaging kit is compatible with a Lexmark MC2640 printer?
13 February 2024
A
No, this isn't correct for the MC2640. You can find the imaging kit that we have for the MC2640 at the bottom of the following page: https://www.tonergiant.co.uk/model/Lexmark-MC2640adwe-toner-cartridges/

Q
What is the difference between this imaging kit and a photoconductor unit?
12 January 2024
A

Hi there, that's a really great question. I believe that the printer needs both a photoconductor unit and developers for each colour. The imaging kit contains both the photoconductor unit and the developers where the photoconductor unit just contains the big slide in part with the drums that the developers sit in.

I hope this helps. If you have any more questions let me know.

Q
Hi, I need to order the black and colour imaging kit for Lexmark cs517de. Can you tell me if it’s easy to replace as I’m not particularly good with these things! Thanks, Deborah.
10 November 2023
A
Hi Deborah, yes, they should be very similar to replacing the toner cartridge and slide in and out with the green handle on the front.

Q
Your response to my last question links to information on recycling ink cartridges. Imaging kits are not mentioned in any of the linked pages, and our question is whether there is a facility for recycling imaging kits.
15 August 2023
A

Hi there, imaging kits/drum units are normally recycled as well, unfortunately, I don't know if the specific services mentioned in the guide offer a service to recycle them as the services are independent and aren't affiliated with us. The zero waste website does mention that they recycle any type of printer consumable including drums (imaging kits). If you need any more help, please let me know.

Q
Is there a service to returning the old imaging kit cartridges for recycling?
15 August 2023
A
Hi there, you can find our recycling guide here: https://www.tonergiant.co.uk/recycling/

Q
My printer began by printing a second page completely yellow, and now is printing pages completely black, but you can still pick out the image. I have changed the waste toner bottle as the message said it was full.
25 August 2022
A
Hi there, this could be down to a faulty toner cartridge or a problem with the high-voltage power supply unit. I would advise calling a Lexmark engineer or if the cartridge you are using is one you have ordered from us then you can call our excellent customer care team on 0345 365 3605 and they will be more than happy to help. I hope this helps answer your question and have a great day!

Q
This is called 70C0Z50 in the product description, just wanted to be sure it is the full kit of 4 and will work with my CX510de printer. My printer is making spots on the paper and the print defect guide shows these are the distance apart to require "replace the imaging kit". Kind regards Nicola

A
Hi there, yes not to worry I understand wanting to make sure you have the correct product, this product will work with your printer and yes it does support all four cartridges in the machine.

Q
Hi. I have CX417de and the black and colour imaging kit is showing as low. It states that the kit is good for 40,000 pages but our machine has only completed 16759. Will it go on for the remainder before failing/stopping or may I have an issue with the printer that I need to speak to Lexmark about?
30 July 2021
A
Hi Mark, when it comes to working out the page yields, most printer manufacturers including Lexmark will use the 5% rule. The 5% rule means that the page capacity is worked out assuming that only 5% of the page is covered in ink or toner. I understand this doesn't translate into the most accurate estimation but it's the standard used in the industry. Once your imaging kit runs out then so will the prints as there will be nothing in your machine to help transfer the toner onto the paper. I hope this helps answer your question, have a great day.

Q
I have a CX410de and am looking for a drum unit. I believe some call it an imaging kit or even a photoconductor unit. Can you confirm the correct part, please? I'm told that the developer units which are 4 individual units that slot onto the drum unit are OK.
10 February 2020
A
Hi there, if your developer units are all ok then the only item you would need is the photoconductor unit which contains all 4 drums here: https://www.tonergiant.co.uk/product/Lexmark-700P-Photoconductor-Unit-70C0P00-19898/.

To help you for future reference, the developers all sit in the photo-conductor unit. The imaging kits contain both the photoconductor unit and either black on its own, or black and all colour developers in one pack. If you need any more advice let me know!

Q
Hi there, we need to buy a Lexmark CX517de black and colour imaging kit. Could you let me know whether you sell the relevant product? Best wishes, Becky.
18 November 2019
A
Hi Becky, thanks for your question. You're actually on the correct product. Its reference is 70C0Z50.

Q
Is it easy to install?
29 May 2019
A
Hi, yes the imaging drums are similar to install as a toner cartridge (slot in where the old unit was removed).

Q
Is this the same item as the genuine Lexmark 70C0Z50 black & colour imaging kit (40,000 pages)? Your website describes it as an imaging unit. I just needed to check. Regards, Alan.
21 May 2019
A
Hi Alan, thanks for your question. Yes, that's correct, it is the 40,000 black and colour imaging kit 700Z5 as described in your question.
