Can a tri-colour cartridge print black?
No, a tri-colour cartridge contains yellow, magenta and cyan, you will need a separate black cartridge to print black. Luckily, this bundle comes with both the colour cartridge and a black one.
Do I need to have a colour cartridge for my printer to work?
Yes, printing with an empty or missing cartridge can seriously damage your printer and its print head. Even if you’re printing just black text, you should ensure you have all cartridges fitted.

Hi there, the 304XL has more ink (it's the high capacity cartridge) and can print almost double the pages as the standard none XL. Unfortunately, all hp 304's are currently out of stock and will be until the end of July at least. HP is struggling to keep up with demand at the moment.

Hi there, unfortunately, I can't find any information on an HP Deskjet 2022 printer and which ink it takes. We don't have that printer listed against the HP 304 so I'm unsure if it would work correctly.
There is an HP Deskjet 2622, could that be your printer?
If so, the HP 304's would be the correct cartridges and yes this product does include 1 x black and 1 x colour ink cartridges but just to let you know, it's currently out of stock and may take a number of weeks before it is back in stock.
