The printer prints. Stangely the orange light is still flashing. An issue with the printer? The waste bottle? Or my installation? I took it out and reseated it, but the light still flashes. As the printer prints I'm contemplating the Homer Simpson fix - a small piece of sticky tape over the light. 8-)

Hi there, this is indeed the correct waste toner for the C48X series printer (CLT-W406).

I have a CLP 410 Samsung printer and need to replace the toner waste compartment. Where is it situated please, and what do I need to do to replace it?

Hi there, thanks for your question. For the CLP 410, on the side of the printer, I believe there is a small rectangular compartment that you can open and the waste toner is located there. It clips in and out but make sure to switch off and unplug the machine before removing it.

Unfortunately, we don't have your printer model listed on our website any longer so I can't direct you to the correct replacement part (the CLT-W406 isn't the correct one for the CLP-410, it's intended for the C410 which is a different machine) but the one you remove from your printer will have a code on it so you can get the right part. If you let us know what it is we can help find it on the website for you (it might be similar to CLT-W... with numbers at the end).

Hi there, if you scroll down to the bottom of this page, in the Q and A section there is an image showing how. You need to remove all toners and then you'll be able to release it.

Hi Graham, I've found some more detailed instructions:

Replace the waste toner

Firstly remove all toner cartridges. Secondly remove the waste toner by pulling on the handle marked (1) in the diagram.

Hi there, the waste toner container is hidden on either the left or right side of the toners. To take the current waste toner out, you'll need to carefully take all the toners out first and then there will be a green release latch to eject the waste toner and it will slide out. Hi Miles, there are a number of things to try. It's usually that the printer memory has not been reset so the first thing to do is to take the cartridges and the waste cartridge out, switch off the printer, unplug from the wall and leave for 5-10 minutes then switch it back on and put the cartridges back in. This will normally reset the memory and detect the waste cartridge. If you're still experiencing the problem, take a look at this article as the steps on there should help you to resolve the issue with printer not recognising cartridges.
