What's the difference between original and compatible Canon printer ink?
Genuine Canon printer inks are manufactured by Canon to work in specific Canon printers. Compatible Canon inks are manufactured by third party companies to work in the same printers whilst offering a lower cost alternative for you to choose from. Whilst original Canon inks will always give you the best printing results, high quality compatible inks such as the ones manufactured by us, produce excellent quality prints with a much lower initial cost, so depending on what you're printing, both options allow you to choose the balance of price, performance and quality that best suits your needs.
Should I choose standard or XL canon ink cartridges?
If you print regularly and find cartridges run out quite quickly, XL inks offer up to twice the volume of ink but are cost effective because they are cheaper than buying two standard sized inks. Choose standard inks for infrequent printing as they offer a lower initial cost.
What's the difference between PG, CL, CLI and PGI Canon cartridges?
Canon PG cartridges contain pigment ink (fade resistant ink) and CL cartridges contain tri-colour ink (cyan, magenta and yellow colours in one cartridge). PGI and CLI inks belong to printers that have separate ink tanks for each colour, and can be replaced individually as and when they need to be. Always check the cartridge numbers in your printer before you order, to make sure you purchase the correct inks for your Canon printer.
Ho often should I replace Canon printer inks?
If print quality starts to fade, your prints look inconsistent or your printer has indicated that one of the cartridges is nearly empty you should replace the ink cartridge.
