Only just fitted fuser unit today but as an Oki original there should be no problem.

Hi, I'm interested in one of these as my fuser unit has come up with the "980" code and is calling for an engineer visit. It looked like some paper had got wrapped around the fuser but that came off and the original drum looks OK. I'm a bit concerned about the user comment that a new fuser does not automatically reset the fault code, so presumably, it needs this sorted to work again. Any help?

Hi there, the fault code would normally reset itself but sometimes you have to switch everything off and reboot the printer to get it to work. They're generally straightforward to replace but if you need any further help, please let us know!

Is the fuser unit the same as the image drum unit?

Hi there, no the drum unit distributes toner from the toner cartridge onto the paper and the fuser unit melts the toner later in the printing process. There are 2 separate maintenance items. If you'd like more advice, please let me know!
