Hi, is this toner for Brother HL3140CW and is it black?

Hi, no this is a waste toner unit. This collects the excess toner that is produced when printing. The black toner cartridge you require is the TN241.

My printer, the Brother HL 3140CW is showing all four drums at 7 percent, is this 7 percent left or 7 percent used please, and what part numbers would I need to replace all 4 please? Also would that account for a very poor toner banding problem when printing please?

Hi there, this would normally mean 7% left in the life of the drums. You'd only need to replace the drum colours that the printer tells you to. The codes are DR-241CL and there is one for each colour needed which is listed at the bottom of this page. Yes, it would be one of the major causes for lines down the page or poor print quality. If you'd like any more help, please let us know.

Hi there, a waste toner is also known as a 'waste toner collector' and basically collects the toner powder that is wasted during the printing process so it doesn't spill out into the printer. A printer will tell you once it's full and needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, they must be replaced as they can't be emptied.
