This HP printer needs both tri-colour and black ink to run correctly. This is an all-in-one printer that allows you to print, scan and copy. The quality for prints can reach up to 4800x1200dpi. The print speeds are nice and quick at 12ppm (pages per minute) for black text and 8ppm for colour printing. As well as high quality and an efficient form, you have a range of connectivity options to choose from too. There is a USB port, Wi-Fi enabled printing for the whole family to connect to and Apple and Email print options too.

How long will the ink cartridges last?

HP Envy 5544 ink cartridges are available as either standard or XL capacities but both genuine and compatible last the same length of time. From your standard ink, expect to see around 200 pages and from XL, that increases to around 600 pages per cartridge based on the manufacturers estimate.

I have previously bought "compatible" ink cartridges from another website. They were messy and my printer did not like them. I presume the software somehow recognised counterfeit cartridges. How can I be sure that if I buy your compatible, and cheaper cartridges I will not have the same problem?

I have put in two new cartridges but I keep getting messages telling me to make sure they are correctly installed. I do this, but I am still getting this message and it refuses to print. My granddaughter has tried also with no success. Can you advise as to what might be happening?

Hi there, we have an article on our website with tips on how to fix this issue. Try them and if you still have no luck, it sounds like the data on the ink cartridge chips has been rendered out of date by an HP printer update.
