Hi, I have HP Jet Pro 8720 instant ink which bought in January 2017. If i buy HP-compatible ink cartridges, will it work? The cartridges I heard are locked to HP and will disable all the other non-HP ink cartridges. Will I get any help or instructions on how to make sure the HP-compatible cartridges can be installed? As you know in these difficult times, online learning I am looking for a cheaper alternative as I cannot afford to spend £78 on instant cartridges. Your help is much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi there, unfortunately with instant ink machines, HP can lock the printer and disable the compatible cartridges from working. It will depend on if you chose the option for 6 months of free ink when you originally set it up. If you didn't, then the printer shouldn't be locked and you will still be able to use compatible cartridges.
