What is the returns policy and how do I return a cartridge?
We want you to have the best experience possible when shopping with TonerGiant. With over 20 years’ expertise, our friendly support team is here to help get you printing again quickly. You can arrange to return a product through our returns form, or by calling us on 0345 365 3605.
If your product becomes faulty
  • Original Cartridges: Return for a refund or replacement for up to 12 months.
  • Compatible cartridges: Return for a refund or replacement up to 3 years.
Please contact us a soon as possible to request a returns number and arrange a free collection.
If you change your mind - 30 Days to return:
  • You have 14 days from delivery to arrange a return and an additional 16 days to return the items to us once arranged (30 Days in total).
  • Ordered incorrectly? We’ll provide a returns number and address for you to send to.
  • Wrong item arrived – We’ll arrange a free collection of the incorrect product(s) and send a replacement.
After 14 days, you may still be able to return the product, but a 20% restocking fee will apply. After 30 days, returns are at our discretion.
Please note: Printer cartridges must be returned unopened, unused, with all seals intact and in a resalable condition, or returns may not be accepted.

What cartridges does the HP 254dw printer use?
The HP 254dw uses 203A (standard capacity) or 203X (high capacity) toner cartridges. You can choose between original HP or compatible alternative toners as both will work correctly in the printer.
What's the difference between standard A and high capacity X 254dw toners?
When buying M254dw toners, you can choose between standard 203A, or high capacity 203X cartridges. The difference between them is the number of pages they can print. Black high capacity X toners can print more than double the number of pages as their standard counterparts (3200 pages vs 1400 pages), and high capacity colour toners can print 1200 pages more than standard colour toners (2500 vs 1300 pages).
How much does delivery cost and how long will it take?

Hi John, thanks for your question. The drums are built into the toner cartridges for the M254 series printers so the only way to replace them is to replace the whole toner cartridge. A printer printing horizontal lines could be one of several causes but hopefully this information will help you:

How do I insert the new black toner cartridge in my M254dw?

To install the new toners, firstly take the new toner out of it's box / packaging and remove any protective strips (be careful not to touch the green cylinder) and then follow these intructions:

  1. Open the front door of the printer (there will be an indent to the top where you can pull).
  2. pull the blue handle towards you to pull the toner drawer out.
  3. Find the colour toner you wish to remove, pull its handle upwards to remove it.
  4. insert the new toner in its place.
  5. push the toner drawer back in.
  6. close the printer door.

Your HP 254dw toner will now start to initiate and install.

Hi there, the printer should display which colour cartridge is running low. You would only need to replace that colour. They are ordered on this page by packs (containing all 4 colours) first and then black, cyan, magenta then yellow (each also has the colour icon next to the image and how many pages it can print).

Hi there, thanks for your question. We will be doing compatibles in the near future but it can take around 12-18 months before they are available and I believe the M255DW printer came out at the start of this year. The prices will depend on the cost to manufacture so I'm afraid we don't know the price just yet but they tend to be about 40% - 50% cheaper. They would be a similar price to the ones available for M254DW I would imagine.

Hi there, thanks for your question. No, you can't use any other toner in a printer than the ones manufactured for it. HP 304A was made for HP Colour laserjet CM / CP series machines.
