What is the difference between HP 953 and HP 953XL inks?

HP 953 series ink cartridges can be purchased in 2 different sizes, standard inks or XL (extra large) inks. The difference between standard and XL inks is simply the volume of ink inside the cartridge, and the number of pages that can be printed before they run out.
  • HP 953 standard black inks contain 23.5 ml of ink and print 900 pages vs 42.5ml and 2000 pages for the HP 953XL black ink cartridge.
  • HP 953 standard colour inks contain 10 ml of ink and print 630 pages vs 20ml and 1450 pages for the HP 953XL colour ink cartridges.
