Hey, thanks for dropping us a line. I'll try to explain the differences between the different available toner cartridge options and hopefully, you'll have a better idea about which cartridges you need to purchase for your MFC-L8850CDW printer. So at the top of the page, we have our own brand compatible cartridges which are a cheaper alternative to the Brother Original Cartridges but still fantastic quality and then the second half of the page is the original Brother cartridges. There are 3 different capacity options for each colour and they are named TN329, TN326 and TN321. They will all fit correctly in your printer but the choice of which ones to buy depends on how much you need to print and how much you'd like to spend. The TN329 cartridges will print up to 6000 pages, the TN326 cartridges up to 3500 pages and the TN321 cartridges up to 2500 pages. SO whichever you choose, all you have to do is buy the same number range for each colour cartridge (although you can actually mix them if you wish).

Hi Ted, thanks for your question. For colour laser printers such as the Brother MFC-L8850CDW, you will need to replace every cartridge that has run out because if there are any cartridges that are currently empty or missing then the printer will not work. It's a little frustrating but the printer software doesn't allow for printing in one colour without the others being present because it actually combines all colours when printing, thanks, Stu.
