Do I need both a toner cartridge and an imaging unit for a Xerox Versalink C400 printer?

Yes, they do different things and are both necessary. The imaging unit uses an electrically charged cylinder to transfer toner onto the media being printed, to create text and images. Then, the toner cartridges simply contains the toner powder.

How do I change the toner cartridge on my Xerox Versalink printer?

Open the front cover, then remove the toner cartridge by lifting and pulling it straight out of the device. Set it aside to be recycled, and remove your new cartridge from its packaging. Distribute the toner by gently rocking the toner cartridge back and forth. Lastly, insert the toner cartridge in the device by gently pushing in and down until it clicks into place.

My machine is asking for a drum cartridge Kit, but you do not appear to sell them for this model of printer. My printer is a Xerox Versalink C400.
