There are a number of black ink cartridges for you to choose from for your HP Photosmart B8553. Your printer will actually need 2 of the black cartridges to operate, which are the regular black ink cartridge and the photo black ink cartridge. You can purchase either the standard capacity black cartridge or the XL black cartridge (HP 364 Black or HP 364XL black) and you will also need either the standard photo cartridge or the XL photo inkjet cartridge to get your printer working.
