How long will your Brother MFC-J4620DW ink cartridges last? A question we often get asked is why have my cartridges run out of ink but not printed as many pages as the manufacturer said that they would? The common misconception is that the number of pages stated on this page (taken from information given by the manufacturer) is the amount of pages you should be able to print but it’s actually only an average and can differ quite a lot depending on what’s being printed and how efficient your printer is. For example, the LC227XL black ink cartridge can print up to 1200 pages. This is based on printing around 3 to 5 paragraphs of plain text (often stated as 5% coverage), so if you’re actually printing pictures, of blocks of colour and shading, this will reduce the number of pages you can print by quite a lot. Also if your printer is old and not working as well as it once did, this can effect it’s result.
