'Small steps' important in cutting office paper usage

Businesses looking to make their use of printer toner more efficient and cut down on the amount of paper they use may find taking small steps can make a significant difference.

Raz Godelnik, co-founder of Ecolibris.net, stated there are always opportunities available for reducing the amount of paper an office uses, such as implementing duplex printing as a standard practice.

"Increasing the efforts to recycle used paper can also help to reduce paper usage. It's amazing how these small steps help in reducing the usage of paper," he said.

Mr Godelnik added it is important to raise awareness among employees of what they can do to contribute to making a workplace greener.

By starting with small changes to behaviour, this can pave the way for more sophisticated and complex techniques to improve a firm's green credentials, he continued.

Earlier this week, it was noted by author Ian Price that face-to-face meeting could be better for building relationships than email exchanges, which could mean companies will need toner cartridges to print physical copies of documents for these get-togethers.
