Is it true that non-genuine toners damage the drum & fuser?

No, that's not correct at all.
To say that is true is quite a broad statement, meaning that if you looked at the full spectrum of non-genuine toners available across the world, you will get products that are manufactured at varying quality standards and it's very likely that at some point the lower quality cheap compatibles may have caused issues as you've described, but many companies also sell very high-quality compatibles that are fully tested and made to high standards and would not cause the printer or it's parts any issues at all.
We manufacture ours to the highest of standards for the simple reason that we don't want our products to cause problems that mean customers would want to return them and never use them again. Whilst we can't say problems will never occur, we have a very low failure rate.
