why is the drum unit for the Xerox WorkCentre cheaper than the cartridges despite it being able to print 3 times the capacity?

Hi Chris, the drum unit is a maintenance item which means it has a duty cycle not a print capacity. In other words it lasts a certain number of prints , however it does not contain toner. You will only need to replace the drum unit a small number of times compared to the toner cartridges and as it's a maintenance part, it's cheaper.
