What does the Oki 42625503 Fuser Unit do? Will I need to swap it one out like the toner cartridge? Geri.

Hi Geri, thanks for your question...The Fuser unit is the part of your printer that actually melts the toner powder particles onto your paper during the printing process, so your printer definitely needs it to operate. Now it should last for at least 45,000 printouts depending on how efficiently the printer is working so you shouldn't have to swap yours out for a good while or until the printer screen tells you that it needs to be replaced. What's the difference between the compatible and the Oki image drums for this printer?
