Hi there, they do have chips and should not display any errors. If you do experience issues when installing (which is very rare), our cartridges are covered by a 3 year guarantee.

Hi there, thanks for your question! A toner cartridge is a replaceable item in the printer that contains the toner powder (similar to ink in an inkjet cartridge) that is used to create the black or coloured image on the page where the drum cartridge (or drum unit as its also known) is a metal cylindrical item that the laser in the printer beams on to, to give it an electrical charge, this then attracts the toner from the toner cartridge and transfers it on to the paper when it passes the drum unit. Therefore a drum unit is a maintenance part of the printer and shouldn't need to be replaced as often as the toner cartridges. If you have any more questions, please let me know!
