Which printer is best for me?

When it comes to replacing your old printer and buying a new one, there are so many options available that you can be forgiven for feeling overwhelmed! Of course, the most important thing that comes to mind is to find a printer that is within your budget and is cost effective when it comes to replacing ink or toner cartridges in the future.
Tip 1: Think about how frequently / how many people will be using your new printer. If it's a printer just for one or two people and it only gets used a few times a week, then consider an inkjet printer that will be cheaper to buy initially and will have cheap replacement inks. If it's a printer to be used every day, and multiple people will be using it in a busy office, look for a laser printer. For more advice, take a look at our printer buying guide.
Tip 2: Each printer comes pre-packaged with a set of cartridges to get you started. These 'starter' inks or toners only contain enough to get you going and won't last as long as newly purchased, replacement cartridges (containing approx half to two thirds or regular cartridges). So you may decide to buy a set of inks / toners along with your new printer purchase. Have a look at how much a replacement set of cartridges cost, before you purchase your new printer so there are no surprises later on.
