Humidity in your office<\/h2>\n

We came across a video this week<\/a><\/span> presented by Elliot Morgan on Mashable entitled \u201cWhy Printers Are Awful and Other Mysteries.\u201d it touched on a subject about humidity in your office.<\/p>\n

When we saw the title, this was our reaction:<\/p>\n

As you\u2019d expect, the title got our danders up. We love printers! So naturally we pressed play. In the clip, an instalment of the \u2018Mashable Minute\u2019 series that discusses science and tech problems in just 60 seconds, Elliot asks \u201cwhy does the printer (in the office) never, ever work?\u201d He claims that it\u2019s because \u201cprinters are these awful, awful inventions that can\u2019t handle humidity in your office.\u201d<\/p>\n

I\u2019m sorry, awful inventions?! (See previous meme for our reaction to this, as well!)<\/p>\n

To be fair to Elliot he does make it explicitly aware in the video that he hates printers! And let\u2019s face it, we\u2019ve all experienced travails with our printers at one time or another.<\/p>\n

But we did want to touch on his point. It\u2019s true that the humidity in your office, or whichever room it\u2019s located in, can affect your printer.<\/p>\n

Really?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Yep, really. Even your modern, highly sophisticated printer needs looking after just as much as your older ones. And putting them in rooms that are too dry or muggy can cause them problems.<\/p>\n

\"water<\/a><\/p>\n

Humidity is all to do with the amount of water vapour in the air. If there\u2019s lots of it, the humidity is high. That\u2019s when things start to feel sticky. If there\u2019s not enough of it, the humidity is low. This is when it feels really warm and is difficult to cool down.<\/p>\n

Just like it makes us feel cranky, different degrees of humidity make things difficult for printers, too.<\/p>\n
