So here it is….Once again the geniuses at Apple have come up with yet another reason for us gadget junkies to part with our hard earned money, and they always seem to know how to push the right buttons….
Last year, during a serious economic downturn, Apple still managed to sell millions of iPad units in the UK. Now the iPad 2 is set to be released on March 25th 2011 and like Christmas come early; there is no doubt it will have consumers queuing for miles at the doors of every apple store across the country, but the big question on everyone’s lips… is it that much different from the iPad 1?
Well the all new iPad 2 is 33% thinner and 15% lighter than its older brother, and for those of us that are addicted to gadgets (like me) there will be 50% more drool. Now sporting a dual core A5 chip, and a graphics card that is 9 times faster, iPad 2 is smoother, more powerful, and can do twice the work of its predecessor….but that’s not all, 2 new additions that have be eagerly anticipated, are the back and front facing cameras, allowing you to use face time video calling or shoot HD video, although disappointingly, neither match the quality of the iPhone 4 camera.
The iPad 2 comes with IOS 4.3 pre installed, the newly updated operating system for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, which includes features such as iTunes home sharing and Airprint.
Airprint will allow you to print whatever you see on the iPads’ screen, wirelessly and instantly to Airprint enabled printers, without the need to install any additional software. Currently, Airprint will only officially work with a range of new generation wireless HP printers; however a quick search on Google will show you that there are workarounds to enable other printers.
How much will the iPad 2 cost in the UK I hear you ask…..well with prices likely to start at £429 for the 16GB Wifi only version, have apple convinced you to part with your money??
